Oktoberfest

Fall Beers & Oktoberfest           With September around the corner, there is no better time for beer, Especially Oktoberfest styles. They arrive fast and leave quicker! Oktoberfest beer, also known as a Märzen style, was created because summer weather would be too hot to brew beer. So brewers decided to start in March (Märzen). The beer was used during the royal wedding of Prince Ludwig and for the citizens of Munich to enjoy in celebration. The popularity of the beer has grown so much that craft breweries all over America have taken shots at making such a historic beer. Ayinger, Hacker-Pschorr, Paulaner, and Hofbräu are some of the breweries that create authentic Oktoberfest beer. While in the US, Samuel Adam’s Oktoberfest, DuClaw’s Mad Bishop, and Blue Point Oktberfest are popular.

Feel The Bourbon!

Feel The Bourbon! Recently it seems as though there’s been resurgence in the popularity of Bourbon. We’ve noticed that more and more young people are leaning toward the all-familiar burn. With the popularity on the rise there are also a decent amount of companies jumping on-board the flavor train; it seems that the crazier the flavoring, the more hype surrounding. Some great choices to get you on the train to ride are:

  • COLDCOCK- This is a relatively newcomer in the bourbon game, but with endorsements from various popular rock groups, it’s made quite a name for itself. It’s not your grandfather’s bourbon; this is geared toward a younger, more flavor-driven generation. This particular brand is made with at least 7 different herbs and spices to really take your taste buds on a trip, coming in at 70-proof it’s just the right amount of burn and flavor. For sale here at the great price of $19.99.

  • Angel’s Envy- This is a first in the world of bourbons, coming from legendary distiller, Lincoln Henderson. Envy is aged for 4-6 years in new charred oak barrels and then aged for another 3-6 months in port barrels. That process makes Envy exceptionally smooth and enjoyable for either the novice, or experienced bourbon connoisseur. At 86.6-proof it’s burn is not too aggressive, and it’s for sale at the price-point of $43.99, it’s an excellent choice.

  • Booker’s True Barrel- This is a heavyweight in the bourbon-game and a wonderful treat. The true-grit rawness is what the quintessential bourbon is. This is your grandfather’s bourbon and rightfully so; you need some experience with bourbon to truly appreciate the greatness presented to you in this bottle. Coming in at a whopping 125.9-proof rating this will definitely put some hair on your chest! For sale for the reasonable price of $59.99.

I hope this has been delightful and enlightening for everyone and we look forward to you coming in and giving some of these, or our other great selection a try. See you here, at ‘The Boot’.
